MEET THE INVESTIGATORS

Darryl Pearson - Founder of NPI & Off the Cuff Co-Host
Darryl was born and raised in Ontario, Canada, and is the youngest of three children. He has lived in British Columbia for over 30 years and has been involved in the steel industry for most of that time. Prior to that he lived in various places throughout Ontario. Darryl started investigating the paranormal as a result of his drive to discover the truths and/or untruths behind the causes of paranormal activity, also having had a few experiences that put him on course with the paranormal. Darryl is what some people call "sensitive" and has been known to see and feel things in ways others may not. He uses both his senses and technical equipment to investigate, and help people understand what they are experiencing & hopefully supply answers. As the founder of N.P.I. Darryl brings a positive, professional, enthusiastic energy to the group, which is an asset to all our investigations. Darryl has been investigationg and researching the paranormal for more then 10 years now and has gained a lot of experience in the field. Having been both a member and lead investigator in various groups and Founder of NPI. He feels that with his entire team’s knowledge. N.P.I. is the group to look for when help and answers are needed.

Nikki Peterson - Co-Founder of NPI
Born and raised in Langley BC, Nikki has always lived in the lower mainland, and now resides in Surrey. Nikki has been interested in the paranormal since she was a little child when an elderly woman would come and sit in her room at night and sing to her, comfort her. As Nikki grew into adolescence, the paranormal activity around her grew in frequency and intensity. At this time, she was also introduced into the metaphysical realm. This is when she found out for sure about her “sensitivities” and telekinesis.

By the time she was a young adult, she had already experienced so much relating to the paranormal, both good and bad. Nikki comes with a resume that includes working with various investigative paranormal teams and brings with her the knowledge learnt with each one. Every place Nikki has lived, she has had ghosts follow her. Things will be moved around, sounds made, unexplainable happenings, being touched and even on occasion she will actually see her visitors.

Despite all of her personal experiences, she faces every moment as a skeptic first. She will never assume that anything happening is paranormal, no matter how weird it may seem. When Nikki isn’t expanding her knowledge of the mysterious and unknown, you can usually find her at a coffee shop or the beach with a coffee and a good book. Her other hobbies include 8-ball, photography, videography, poetry, readying, collectibles and enjoying nature.

Nikki is also very close to her supportive family for who she can’t thank enough for all the love and guidance they have given her throughout the years. When the opportunity came for Nikki to become Co-Founder of Northern Paranormal Investigations, she knew it was the right thing for her to be doing and is happy to be living one of her dreams.

Holly Fynn - Investigator & Case Manager (NPI)
Born and raised in Vancouver, Holly has a long held interest in the paranormal, sparked by two unmistakable encounters as a young child. There is a never-ending curiosity about what connects us to the other side. Holly became an investigator in 2009 and feels fortunate to be able to share this activity with her husband, Ken.
Despite her belief in the paranormal, Holly maintains a healthy skepticism during investigations. The evidence must be unmistakable to even be considered as possibly being paranormal. While she appreciates the opportunity to investigate historical investigations, she finds a particular satisfaction in helping clients who believe they may be experiencing paranormal activity in their homes or businesses.

Ken Fynn - Investigator & Case Manager (NPI)
Ken is originally from Vancouver, B.C. He has been an investigator since 2009 and considers himself to be an open minded skeptic.
Trained in the skills of problem solving, conflict resolution and proactive listening, Ken brings a wide range of views and ideas to our investigations.
He considers each investigation as an opportunity to learn, and to possibly encounter the unexplainable. He particularly enjoys investigating historical locations. Ken hopes that in working with NPI’s skilled team he will gain not only answers to the clients’ questions but perhaps some of his own as well.

Mike Burns - Investigator & Tech Manager (NPI)
Mike is a Vancouver born and raised lad with a lifelong passion for things mechanical and electronic. An early fascination with science and science fiction and exploring new environments, led him to become part of a group of the youngest certified scuba divers in Canada. Researching and locating old ghost towns, metal detecting and gold prospecting are just some of the outcomes of his always curious, always learning mind. A skeptic by nature, but definitely not a closed minded one, he favors the more scientific methods of evidence collection. Designing, building or modifying detection equipment allows him to continue the quest for evidence that is, frankly, beyond normal.

Bev Burns - Investigator (NPI)
Bev moved to the Vancouver area at a very early age. She has always been aware of her special abilities to see, hear, smell and sense things, which others do not seem to be aware of. Raised in a family where such things, to say the least, were not encouraged, she quickly learned to suppress them. Later in life during times of spiritual turmoil and then again of spiritual learning, such abilities were still deemed, by others, not appropriate. It was not until Bev, Mike and family moved into a house that contained more than just the living, that it forced open the doors for discussion. Bev now enjoys meeting like-minded people and the journey to explore the fullness of her abilities. She considers herself to be a sensitive and with many years in the paranormal field. Bev continues to help both NPI and it's clients understand the unknown.

Mike Lutke - Investigator & Off the Cuff Co-Host (NPI)
Mike Lutke Vancouver born and raised, Mike was first introduced to the paranormal realm by watching Ghostbusters, Poltergeist and Scooby Doo. Later in life that transitioned to Ghost Hunters on TV and the realization that there are actually teams that investigate the paranormal. What started out as a genuine curiosity, has now evolved to him being an investigator and researcher of the subject since 2016. Mike likes to think of himself as a student of the paranormal, always learning new things and applying them to future investigations. He enjoys trying new methods of investigating to see what may or may not work in his ongoing paranormal quest. Mike is also the co-host of Off The Cuff Paranormal, a monthly live podcast on the Northern Paranormal Investigations YouTube channel.

Aimee Jane - Investigator & Media & Website Designer (NPI)
Aimee had her first encounter with the paranormal at just 4 years old, and instead of feeling frightened, she found herself captivated by the supernatural. After experiencing a lifetime of unexplained phenomena in several homes, in the early 2000's she invested in paranormal equipment and began exploring her own house, as well as those of her friends and workplaces, who kindly welcomed her investigations.
After some time, Aimee joined a local paranormal group, where she quickly worked her way up to lead investigator and vice president. After many years with the team, she and her best friend, Mike Lutke, decided to branch out and form their own group "Paranormal Spectrum Investigations" (PSI). PSI went on to thrive for years, becoming a sister team to both NPI and Faculty X, before eventually merging with Northern Paranormal.

Aimee has a deep love for traveling and is constantly searching for new haunted destinations to discover. She has investigated haunted castles and historical locations in the United States, Canada, and the U.K. Additionally, she has investigated ghost towns, hotels, military bases, prisons, and even the chilling Queen Mary Ship in Long Beach, California.

With over two decades of experience and hundreds of investigations completed, Aimee is always looking for her next haunted adventure while traveling abroad.

Karen Perrin - Investigator (NPI)
Karen's interest with the paranormal started as a child in England. Her bedroom window looked out onto a church graveyard. What she saw would never leave her mind. A grey misty figure seemed to glide across the graveyard and then suddenly disappear. In telling her parents, "I saw a ghost" they put it down to a child's imagination. Karen knew it wasn't her imagination. Over the years Karen encountered numerous unexplained situations and her paranormal interest grew. Experiencing feelings that she couldn't explain Karen singed up for a 6 week course with a respected psychic medium. In taking this course she learned of her Clairsentient and claircognizant abilities.

In 2018 Karen, along with her husband Gord, got the opportunity to join Northern Paranormal Investigations now combined with Faculty X Investigations, giving Karen the opportunity to hone in on her abilities, with the evidence that the team has collected over the years, she is a true believer of the paranormal.

Karen is married to co team mate Gord, together they have a king Charles cavalier named Ozzy, a daughter, a son in law, two grandsons and a fur granddaughter chocolate lab named Skylar which they are very active together enjoying camping, walks, hockey games as well as quiet nights in front of the TV watching, you guessed it Paranormal shows !!

Gord Perrin - Investigator (NPI)
Gord self labels as the "open minded skeptic". Being married to a sensitive it has opened his mind more to all things unexplained. Joining NPI/FX along with his wife Karen in 2018, he enjoys the different locations that investigations have sent him. The history and architecture of buildings are of most interest to Gord.

Still waiting for that true unexplained moment that will send Gord from being the open minded skeptic to a true believer in the paranormal.

When not on investigation Gord is semi retired and enjoys time spent with his family, singing Karaoke and relaxing with his dog Ozzy & Karen watching paranormal documentaries as well as Coronation Street!

Kay Thornton - Founder & Historian (Faculty X)

Coming from the North West of England and living in BC for nearly 21 years, Kay is the last remaining founder of FX Investigations in the Interior. She is a TAPS Family member and moderator for the Official GH Fan page. Have investigated for the past (ask Mike, I forget ) years. She is a Historic researcher for the teams. Delving down too many rabbit holes to mention and peeling back layers to find truthful answers for the teams.

Profile Coming

Alysha Dawn (Faculty X)

Annabelle, a Rageddy Anne Doll, went to her first investigation as a trigger object sometime in 2018. Since then, she has been to more investigations that we can count, sometimes just being guardian of the equipment, others as a full fledged investigator/trigger object. She even has made a friend of sorts with someone at the Vancouver Police Museum! While she hasn’t moved on her own (yet), we will be sure to keep a close eye on her.
